The Svitava Micro-region
The Svitava micro-region has a convenient traffic position thanks to the crossing of important railway and road routes as well as an interesting landscape: the Boskovice Gully reaches there by its central part, there is the Brno massif, points of the Czech plateau and the connecting Třebovské mezihoří. In the west, there is Bohemian-Moravian Highlands and in the east it is Drahany Highlands with the Moravian Karst at the west edge. The whole region is very scenic and offers a lot of interesting views and beautiful landscape scenes including Velký Chlum and Malý Chlum (with a forest observation tower) nearby Obora.
The micro-region includes 9 municipalities: Doubravice nad Svitavou, Chrudichromy, Jabloňany, Kuničky, Lhota Rapotina, Obora, Skalice nad Svitavou, Svitávka and Újezd u Boskovic.
The current overall area of the micro-region is 54.56 km2; about 5.5 thousand inhabitants live there.
