The Ruins of the Doubravice Castle

About 300 meters behind the last houses leading to Kuničky, turn left to a small grassy island where there used to be the first advanced fortification of a castle. Then there was a moat, defence rampart and second moat. Behind the second moat there is a hill where the castle used to stand. You can see the shape of the castle courtyard shaped as an irregular pentagon, a smothered well and the entrance to the castle. The castle was probably founded at the end of the 13th century by Protiva from Doubravice. It was probably built in the gothic style. It was not very large, yet the Doubravice estate owners used it as a family residence for over two centuries. It was deserted in 1528 when the family died out. It is freely accessible.
